UK McDonald’s To Use Biodiesel

McDonald’s has announced its UK initiative to recycle used cooking oil into biodiesel to fuel its truck fleet. The corporation claims that using the frying oil from its 1,200 outlets will cut carbon emissions by 75 percent.

The initiative is part of McDonald’s ongoing campaign to improve its image, and other moves include switching to non-hydrogenated cooking oil, introducing sustainably grown coffee and organic milk on its menus and has also begun promoting farmers on the paper liners of meal trays.

The company is also redesigning 100 of its restaurants, changing the long-established red and yellow storefronts to dark green and black.
